snowboarding in Winter Park

Sorry if I offend you but, Snowboarding, forever and always. Get ready to see a lot of white around here because i’ll be in the snow every weekend until April!

First of all, I LOVE snowboarding and have been doing it since I was about 12. It’s one of my favorite activities and I’m excited to be out here doing it more. Noah and I love this time of year where we get to bundle up and snuggle with some hot cocoa after a long, cold day.

Winter Park is a little town tucked into the Rocky Mountains, only a short 1.5 hour drive from Denver. (Maybe longer depended on the weather) Colorado ski resorts in general are a powder mecca – I’ve never boarded a better place so it’s pretty cool this is in my backyard. If you love to ride the pow, you must make Winter Park your next ski/snowboard adventure! (plus Taylor Hill is from here, which makes it 10x cooler)

Our favorite aspect of the slopes in Winter Park is usually the amount of terrain parks here. I am definitely no snow pro but love to get my booty a little snowy trying to hit a few jumps or rails here and there!

We also love how many different terrains they have for ALL different experience levels. We love the Mary Jane Terrain as it’s perfect for intermediate levels like us.

Now for some tips: Be prepared. It so easy to take layers off if you’re feeling too warm. But if you get caught going on a snowy day it can feel like the teens and you’ll want every part of your body covered. Yes, even your nose!

Now Winter Park is a pretty tiny town, but you won’t be at a loss for great food options. I highly highly recommend a restaurant Pepe Osaka’s Fish Tacos. I know fish sounds scary in a mountain town but it really was so good! The Spicy tuna Nachos were a lovely treat at the end of a day.

As for other recommendations of things to do in Winter Park, I really recommend experiencing the resort itself! It so chill and laid back, everywhere we went to felt so cozy… A few of our favorites: Derailer Bar (at the bottom of the runs) is a great apres-ski type bar that I always hit when I wait for Noah to finish up. Vertical Bistro has a very elevated dining menu and becomes more night-lifey afterwards!

Winter Park has completely become one of our go-to’s since moving to Colorado. I mean how could you not go snowboarding in a place called Winter Park?!
