This post is not sponsored and all content contains my honest opinion about the product or service.

I started doing P.volve on and off for about 3ish months and instantly fell in love! A little about my workout background is one that was always obsessive and I firmly believed if I didn't sweat or get my heart rate above 130, it didn't count. I had been big into Kayla's BBG program, running, Pure Barre, Cycling and nothing really gave me the body type I wanted. I had strong, bulky thighs from cycling and pure barre, I had achy knees from running and BBG and I had nothing close to a feminine body. (not saying there is anything  wrong with a strong female body and I am SO grateful to be able to do those workouts, but it wasn't working for my goals)

Enter: P.volve. I heard about this program through many of models, articles, and influencers; including The Skinny Confidential Podcast (episode #105) and knew I had to give it a try! I mean, I had tried everything else. The founder, Stephen has put years of research and schooling to create P.volve and owns a studio in NYC (that I am dying  to visit next time I go!) So what exactly is this new workout hitting the scene?!

P.volve is all about lengthening the muscles and is completely geared towards women trying to maintain their feminine curves while aiding in strengthening the muscles in a precise way. These workouts are centered around physical therapy, and are similar to Tom Brady's approach to exercise (what I like to call "pre-hab")  Every workout is targeted on a specific part of the muscle and focused on opening the hips so that you can better strengthen hard to tone muscles like the booty and inner thighs. After over 10 years of exercising I've decided that If I’m going to spend so much time working out, I want a program that is going to give me the body type I want and am proud of!

It Can Be Done Anywhere!
This program is great for mamas or the girl on the go because you get hundreds of videos straight to your phone, laptop or smart TV. All you need is WIFI, and the equipment you like. I really love the P.Ball ($59 on amazon) and haven't found a tool that tones my butt and thighs better! P.volve is free for your first month and $29.99/month there after – and wayyyy cheaper than that barre membership. Oh, and new workouts/programs come out every week. I recommend the 3 Day Body Burn! But if you're keen to the good ole DVDs you can grab this one or this one.

Low Impact Is The New HIIT
One thing I dreaded about BBG or Crossfit was how much the moves beat up my body. I love that this program still leaves me slightly sore and feeling toned without all of the jumping around, burpees, lunges, ugh! (just thinking about it gives me anxiety) But don't think low-impact won't give you results! It is still very intense and challenging which is a great mental stimulation because your have to actually focus on what you're doing, not just swinging a weight around. P also doesn't recommend cardio, just walking, hiking, some light running or rowing. Oh, and just being a generally active person! You can read more on his cardio philosophy here.

NO Pulsing
You know when that instructor says, "Ok now pulse! ...15, 16, 17!" Make. It. Stop. I hate the dreaded pulse and Stephen mentions how pulsing is pointless. His focus is not on tiring out the muscles so that they’re burning. Every move is only...wait for it. 8 reps! So I know what you're thinking, "How is that going to achieve anything?" But the moves aren't easy and it's all about having proper form the whole time. Trust me, you will still feel a burn!

Basically You Have a Personal Trainer
Compared to other at home videos, I think Stephen does at an amazing job at making you feel like he's with you through every workout. It's important to engage every muscles in this program and he's constantly correcting or explaining where/which muscles should be working. It really feels like you basically have a personal trainer with you wherever you go!

The Equipment Is Very Specific
You can't exactly pick up a P.Ball or P.Band at your local Target. But most items don't have to be P.volve brand specific. And aren't totally necessary, but will make it easier on yourself. I would recommend getting the P.Ball and P.Band since these can only be brand specific. As for the gliders  you can grab a cheaper option here. You could use any mat, but a thick one (like this) is best for the knees or try the P.Mat. The ankle weights (light here and heavy here) can also be found at a Target, Marshalls, sporting good store, or these and these. Here are the 2lb dumbbells needed or cheaper ones can be found on Amazon like these. The P.volve resistance bands (light here and heavy here) could be subbed with this off-brand version too. But I will say, if you like the workouts it's worth investing as you'll get the best results this way! They are also pretty easy to travel with (WARNING: TSA might take your ankle weights!)

Expect Opposite Results of Every Workout. Ever
Every workout I have ever done has bulked me up in some way. Muscles are great! But when you're 5'4" bulky muscles just doesn't suit my body type. I want a workout program I get excited about and gives me the results I need to feel confident (oh, and doesn't kill me in the gym) Within the first week I felt my butt more lifted, my thighs slim down and my core more feminine and sleek. Finally!

It's (P)volving
Something I have noticed about this program in the last few months while doing it is how much they are tuned in to their clients & streamers. P is constantly coming out with new content based on what we want! I love that. He's come out with new programs and guides, a facebook group, and a nutrition plan is in the works which I can't wait for! So you'll never feel stale or stagnant in this program because it's constantly evolving to cater to it's clients.

If you're into lean thighs, a perky booty and being able to do it all at home, I highly recommend P.volve, you won't regret it. But try it for yourself! Your first month is free so why not?! use code PVOLVEWILLIAMS with the link below!
