apple watch series 4 review
I have been (jealously) eyeing everyone with an Apple Watch for well over a year now. I always thought I was someone who didn’t need another tech accessory or the whole world on my wrist. But after a week of using my Apple Watch (i have the 40mm in rose gold), I gotta say I am OBSESSED. It’s way more than just a convenience or an accessory, it truly has become a necessity for me!
Here are a few of my favorite thing about it:
Fitness. The main thing I use my watch for is working out and keeping me active. The built in fitness tracker is super clutch! I can record anything from runs, circuit training work outs, spin/yoga/pilates classes, hiking, and lunch break walks to name a few as well as competing with friends!
The Series 4 Apple Watch has a built in GPS, so it can track your distance on runs or elevation on hikes – in addition to your pace, heart rate, and calories burned. The heart rate monitor on the series 4 is what sold me. It’s incredibly accurate and can tell me exactly how much energy I am using, when my BPM are getting too low or too high! Any workout you do (or don’t do), the Apple Watch will track your heart rate, and therefore track your calories burned.
Connectivity. This is a bit obvious , but I love how it syncs with your phone. Incoming texts, calls, notifications, whatever you want can easily be seen and replied to on my watch. This is perf when you’re trying to get ready or too busy to send a full on texts. I can even ask Suri questions and she’ll pull up a quick article on the subject so I don’t have to run and find my phone.
I haven’t delved into this part of the watch too much, but there are TONS of apps and stuff you can get on your Apple Watch. Apparently, you can download workouts, scroll through Instagram, order Dominoes (honestly dying to try). I am curious about the Sweat App, the Waterminder App and would like to find a good sleeping app (as this sin’t built in) but find that Apple provides so much technology on it’s own!
Here are a few others: apple pay, maps, podcasts/radio/music (but not spotify 😭), news, weather, reminders, apple home, walkie talkie other Apple Watch wearers!
Camera, Breathe, and Heart rate. The last few bits of the watch I’m in LOVE with are Camera, Breathe and Heart rate apps. No, it doesn’t have a camera on it, yet but this is great if you need to set up your phone somewhere and take a group shot or an outfit pic! The Breathe app reminds you to breathe for 1 minute a couples times a day and can really help lower your HR and reduce stress. Lastly, the new Heart Rate feature is super handy! Heart problems are the number one killer in America and this feature records your HR patters and shows you where your levels lie on the daily.
I think that sums up the jist of my view on this cool new gadget! Overall, I would 100% recommend it to ANYONE, especially if you’re looking to get more active. Noah and I both have one and love competing with each other. But it does so many other things as well.
Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you guys. I also love when y’all request specific posts, so keep ‘em coming!
