living an active lifestyle
I've been living in Colorado for almost 2 years and if there is one thing I have notices about this state is that everyone that lives here is super active and I love it! I feel like i have found my people. It's one of my favorite things about Denver and it seems to just come so naturally to everyone here. Noah and I will bike to HH or take the pups on nice long hikes in the mountains... with 300 days of sunshine it basically make you want to be outside!
It's pretty evident that I live for fitness and would workout 7 days a week if I could. It seems that today everyone is preaching this diet or that lifestyle which is all fine and dandy but I think what's most important is simply living an active life. Move your body in a way that feels good to you! Whether you live in Denver or New York City it's very possible to keep your body moving all day long! Recently, I've loved parking further at the grocery store and taking the stairs more. Anything it takes to get in some extra steps! We all have the choice to be a little more active everyday.
Something else that has happened recently is my love for Athleta. I honestly would avoid this shop for a while because I thought it was meant for the older generation until I walked in on a random day. Y'all their apparel is straight up chic and adorable. I especially fell for all of their pocket tights and unique sports bras. I know I'm not the only one when I say that new fitness apparel is really motivating! It makes me want to get out and just go for a long walk, or try out a new studio so I can show off my outfit.
Another thing I really love about their fitness gear is how functional it is for almost any activity. So far I've worn these leggings to yoga, running, FlyFIT, hiking, or just running into the store. The side pockets make it so simple to just plop my phone in and a card or two for easy access. Let me say, it's just so nice when I don't have to bring my whole purse into a store with me. I also love that their line are super flattering on ANY body type! I can't believe how much it sucked everything in. Haha! Honestly one of my favorite fitness brands I’ve ever owned - I guess you never know what you'll like until you give it a try. Oh and an added plus that most of their products are fair trade! That means that the people that made their clothing were paid fairly - win win for everyone!
So, if being more active is something that intimidates you or if you’ve just gotten out of a good routine (*cough cough* myself included)…I want to encourage you to be a little more active this week! Invite a friend and simply go for a light hike or take your dog for a 30 minute walk instead of a 15 minute one. Choosing to be active won't only do wonders for your body but also your mental state. And if you need a little help or motivation… it's ok to treat yourself to some Ahtleta gear – it'll definitely help to get you out the door!
