studio review: NEW flywheel union station
Flywheel has hit Downtown Denver!
I wanted to see what all the hype was about around this cycling studio and how it stood out from all the others here in Denver. So last week I tried out their Method45 class twice and yesterday I tried out FlyFIT (real F*%!ING hot) HIIT class. So here is my honest review about the hotness new fitness studio to hit the Denver scene!
Straight up cycling baby! It's an intense (or as intense as you want it to be) 45 minute cycling class that starts right away at getting your heart rate up. The instructors were on point: so motivating and in it the WHOLE time (they were even dripping in sweat y'all!) There were cardio bursts, like sprints, broken down into 60 sec or 30 secs acompanied by strength-building hill climbs so the class flew by. Near the end you'll finish off with a little arm work by using 2, 4, or 6 lbs which burrrrns. Overall, lots of switching it up for a cycling class and a full bod experience.
I finally got to tryout the new FlyFIT class this morning. I learned that Union station is the FIRST studio designed with FlyFIT classes in mind! This class had 0 bikes involved but that didn't mean Kat, our instructor didn't bring the heat. It involved lifting heavy weights with cardio bursts for about 4 rounds. Each move was only a minute long so it went by quick! Every move had the focus on working the whole body and really burning out those muscles with low reps and high weights. It was a sweaty 50 minutes and I know I'll be feeling it tomorrow!
And as for the studio, they had it all. I do love an inviting studio that has all the frills (the fancier the better, IMO) As soon as you walk in you'll notice the modern/industrial vibes and everything you could need! You're bike shoes are waiting for you in a little cubby numbered by your bike number. There are towels, hair ties, earplugs (in case the instructor plays Katy Perry or something) AND lockers with USB jacks in them so you can charge your phone while you ride. GENIUS. And if you need to get ready before heading to work, they've got you covered. Towels, shampoo, soap, blow drier, you good! (Cause trust me, you will need to shower after that sweat) It just opened and they are killing it so far so definitely pop in and give it a shot for FREE! Your first Fly experience is free for first-timers with code FLYFREE.
Have you tried Flywheel or have another Denver studio I should review? LMK!
